Katie Davis
Owner and Administrator
Born and raised in Poquoson, VA, Katie has very fond memories of her time with her dad and uncle out on the water crabbing and enjoying the beautiful Chesapeake Bay. She graduated from Longwood University with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and subsequently earned her Master of Public Administration degree with an emphasis in Health Care Management.
Katie spent seven years with a home care agency, in Fredericksburg, VA, providing geriatric care management and serving on its core leadership team. Katie spent the last 14 years serving individuals who require support to continue living successfully in their homes, or in a community setting with additional care. Katie specializes in care coordination for clients who live with end-of-life disease processes.
Katie’s passion leads her to journey together with families to educate them about resources in the community, allowing their time spent with loved ones to be more meaningful.
Katie and Stuart have three young children and care for Katie’s parents in the same home. She knows the home care journey and her personal experience provides great perspective as she leads our Care Team. Katie loves coaching and mentoring our team as they serve our community.
One of Katie’s favorite activities is traveling the East Coast with her Father to attend concerts by Christian music artists.
With a significant family history of full and partial hearing impairment, Katie finds her own hearing impairment gives her valuable first-hand experience of working with individuals with physical disabilities.
Peter Getts

Peter’s faith is especially important to him. He actively serves his church in Fredericksburg and enjoys mission trips to assist health care and education organizations in Africa develop and improve their services.
Peter and his wife Mary are the proud parents of 6 children and grandparents of 15. They love the Fredericksburg area and enjoy walks downtown, hikes in the mountains, and kayaking on the Rappahannock. But nothing compares to those young grandkids!
April TenHoeve
Care Manager
Born in Texas, but raised in Spotsylvania County, Virginia, April began working in retail management in high school and continued for 12 years before getting her massage therapy license. Adding to this license, she trained and served as a physical therapy aide for seven years.
April’s passion for helping others and caring for people in need inspired her to obtain her CNA license. She pursued her passion and put her skills into practice when she joined Peter and Katie at a home care agency in 2020 as a Care Partner. Months later, in recognition of her many talents, April was promoted to work in Care Management as the Support Coordinator. Two years later, April joined Journey Together Home Care as our Support Coordinator and we could not be more thrilled to have her on our team!
April and Theo have three active teenage daughters. She loves all things fitness and health. Her hobbies include going to the gym, reading, roller skating, and watching Marvel movies with her family – Iron Man being her favorite character.
April looks forward to traveling the world. She especially wants to visit Germany, China, Africa, and Australia.
Tara Pope
Support Coordinator
Born and raised in a small town in North Carolina, Tara enjoys spending time with her family when she visits.
First introduced to the intricacies of psychopathology as a preteen, Tara followed her interest in helping others and appreciating a different perspective. Since earning her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Western Carolina University in 2019, she served individuals with various mental disabilities in group homes and community living settings.
Tara married her best friend and soulmate, Dalton, in October of 2022. They love cuddling on the couch with their dog, Boomer, while watching Gordon Ramsay, Good Mythical Morning, Smosh, or just playing games. In warmer weather, Tara loves being outside in her back yard gardening, sawing firewood, cooking on a campfire, and learning new survival skills.
Julia Babbitt
Registered Nurse
Originally from Connecticut, Julia moved to Richmond, VA, in January 2022 to start her nursing career at VCU Health. She completed her Bachelor of Nursing at the University of Connecticut, as a second-degree student, and now works full-time as a Surgery Trauma RN.
Julia’s passion for others was clear early on, as she helped care for her aging grandparents over the past decade. Her choice to pursue nursing came as no surprise! Julia enjoys exploring the many aspects nursing has to offer, including caring at hospital bedside and in homes.
Outside of work, Julia stays very active – enjoying hot yoga, reading, traveling (including a recent mission trip to South Africa), and exploring her new home of Richmond!
Kacie McCrea
Registered Nurse
Kacie grew up in Virginia Beach and recently moved to Richmond after college. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from James Madison University in 2023. Along with serving as our nurse, Kacie currently works at VCU’s hospital in downtown Richmond as a bedside nurse on a Surgical Trauma step-down unit.
Kacie dreamt of being a nurse as a young child, as she is passionate about caring for and advocating for those in difficult situations and in need of some additional help. She is excited to continue her nursing career at a company with the personal touch that Journey Together provides and to work alongside its compassionate Care Team.
In addition to her love of nursing, Kacie enjoys crocheting, caring for and expanding her indoor plant collection, cooking for others, and becoming more active in her local community.
